MBDK belanja RM100 juta laksana kerja pembersihan, pastikan Klang sejahtera

SHAH ALAM, MARCH 20: The Royal Klang City Council (MBDK) has allocated RM100 million for cleaning work to ensure the city is clean, healthy and prosperous.

The city's deputy mayor said continuous monitoring and strict enforcement were being implemented considering the high cost of carrying out clean-up work.

"In addition, MBDK also always provides support and cooperation to any party that implements the gotong royong program with help in terms of equipment needs," said Mohd Zary Affendi Mohd Arif at the MBDK monthly gathering, yesterday.

He added that the MBDK Environmental Services Department also conducts static operations at the piled waste site for the purpose of monitoring and controlling waste disposal.

"So far, a total of 140 dumping sites have been identified and 84 of them have been completely closed.

"The remaining approximately 40 percent will hopefully be completed this year," he said.

Mohd Zary Affendi also informed that the recycling and used cooking oil collection program continues on the fourth week of every month.

"The collection of recycled goods and cooking oil will be taken into account from January to December this year.

"In addition, various recycling activities are also held for the Klang community with the aim of increasing the public's concern for the importance of recycling practices in the local community," he added.
