31 OCTOBER 2026 PRESS STATEMENT It is hereby announced that His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, is currently unwell after contracting the Influenza A virus. According to His Royal Highness's personal physicians, YBhg. Dato’ Setia Dr Anuar Onah and YBhg. Dato’ Setia Dr Tan Hui Meng, symptoms of the infection were first detected on the morning of Friday, 30 October 2026, when His Royal Highness experienced a high fever and physical weakness. Based on their assessment, His Royal Highness may have contracted the infection while attending public gatherings and interacting with members of the public, including in outdoor areas. Alhamdulillah, His Royal Highness's condition is gradually improving, although he continues to experience a fever. Accordingly, His Royal Highness's physicians have advised him to rest and refrain from attending any official functions or events for a period of five to seven days to allow for a full recovery. In light of this latest development, the Istiadat Menjunjung Duli and the Selangor State Honours Investiture Ceremony, held in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Reign of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, originally scheduled for Sunday, 1 November 2026, have been postponed to Saturday, 7 November 2026. All parties involved are requested to take note of the revised date. The cooperation and understanding of all concerned are greatly appreciated.
