Sungai Klang
The Klang River is one of the main rivers in the state of Selangor and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. The river stretches approximately 120 kilometers, originating from the mountainous areas of Bukit Cherakah, Klang Gate, and Ulu Klang, before flowing through Kuala Lumpur city and eventually emptying into Port Klang, which faces the Strait of Malacca.
Historically, the Klang River played an important role in the early development of Kuala Lumpur as it served as a major route for tin trade in the 19th century. The river not only contributed to economic growth but also acted as a vital connection between inland areas and the port.
