According to the Mayor of MBDK, Dato’ Haji Abdul Hamid Hussain, the operation, which ran from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., was carried out simultaneously with several other local authorities (PBTs) in Selangor to control the crow population, which can affect cleanliness, comfort, and public health.

“ A total of 28 licensed shooters were involved in the operation in collaboration with the Klang South District Police Headquarters.

“As an incentive for the shooters involved and to support continuous crow population control efforts, MBDK also paid RM16,740 as bounty payments based on the number of crows recorded throughout the operation,” he said in the Address at the MBDK Full Council Meeting No. 5/2026.
