SHAH ALAM, 9 SEPTEMBER: The Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) issued four compounds to a business premises for causing obstruction and nuisance in a public area along Jalan Besar, Pekan Kapar, today. MBDK Corporate Communications Director Norfiza Mahfiz said the compounds were issued under Section 46(1)(d) of the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974. “An operation was jointly conducted by the Licensing Department and Enforcement Department following a complaint involving a business premises that was causing obstruction and nuisance. “The inspection was carried out at 11.45 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found that the premises was operating with a valid business licence issued by MBDK but did not have a permit to use the five-foot way. “Therefore, four compounds were issued to the company’s representative, who was an employee, for causing obstruction and nuisance in a public area,” she said in a statement. She added that under the relevant legislation, the premises owner is required to pay RM250 for each compound within 14 days from the date of the notice. Failure to make payment within the stipulated period may result in court action. “MBDK will continue to intensify such operations from time to time to ensure that business premises owners comply with the stipulated regulations while safeguarding cleanliness,” she said. |
