klang's visual image is changing! mbdk, rotary club form a partnership

Klang: The Royal Klang City Council (MBDK) in strategic collaboration with the Rotary Club of Klang Central is injecting new life into the aesthetics of the city environment through the inauguration of the 'Rotary Roundabout' in Bandar Bukit Tinggi, here.

The themed roundabout beautification initiative was implemented with the aim of upgrading the surrounding landscape to make it more conducive, cheerful, clean and organized for the well-being of the local community.

According to MBDK Corporate Communications Director, Norfiza Mahfiz, the local authority (PBT) expresses its highest appreciation to the Rotary Club for its firm commitment in realizing sustainable community projects.

"The existence of the Rotary Roundabout is symbolic of the togetherness of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that move in tandem with local government governance.

"The implementation of this cheerful landscape project will not only beautify the existing infrastructure, but will also provide significant added value to Klang's visual image as a heritage city," said Norfiza when she was present representing the MBDK Mayor to officiate the opening ceremony, here.

The ceremony was also attended by guests of honour including the Rotary International President's Representative & Chairman of the Rotary International Foundation, Holger Knaack; the Governor of Rotary International District 3300 Malaysia, Edward Khoo; the Special Duties Officer to the Prime Minister, Shanmugam Mookan; the President of the Klang Rotary Club, Mahendran Marimuthu and the South Klang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner, Lim Jit Huey.

Commenting further, Norfiza informed that the contributions of funds, time, and energy from various external parties in making the project a success have successfully translated the organization's grand motto, "Service Above Self," into a form of high-impact social transformation.

"MBDK strongly supports this noble effort in fostering the spirit of unity and strengthening corporate social responsibility (CSR) between the public, private and public sectors.

"We hope that this new landmark can be a catalyst for more strategic collaborations in the future to drive the agenda of inclusive community development and sustainable environmental preservation throughout the Klang district," he said.

This strong synergy between enforcement agencies, NGOs, and the community proves that preserving the environment and the beauty of the city can be achieved more effectively through group collaboration.
